As the first Oregon winery to partner with the Cork Collective, we are proud to introduce a new way for our guests and community to participate in this mission: natural cork recycling.
We invite you to bring your used natural corks – from any winery – to Appassionata Estate. Whether you’re a collector, connoisseur, or simply enjoy the occasional bottle, this is an easy and impactful way to help reduce waste and support the circular use of renewable materials.
How to Recycle Your Corks
Recycling natural cork is simple:
- Collect any natural wine corks, regardless of brand or winery.
- Visit the Appassionata Estate tasting room – we’re open daily from 10am – 5pm.
- Drop your corks into the collection bin located near the front door.
- Feel good knowing you’ve made a sustainable choice that supports a healthier planet.
No appointment or purchase necessary to participate. We welcome everyone to be part of this effort.

What Happens to Your Corks?
Through our partnership with the Cork Collective, your corks are given a second life. Once collected, corks are sent to a specialized recycling facility where they are cleaned, processed, and transformed into sustainable materials such as:
- Flooring and insulation
- Fashion and home goods
- Consumer products that replace plastic and synthetic alternatives
Unlike synthetic corks or screwcaps, natural cork is a fully biodegradable, renewable resource. By recycling it, we’re helping to close the loop – keeping valuable materials out of landfills and reducing our environmental footprint.
